Alliance VivaFilm asked Merchlar to create a unique Augmented Reality experience for Quentin Tarantino’s blockbuster sensation Django Unchained. Pointing the device at the official Django Unchained movie poster will bring it to life, revealing a Django-themed environment containing the movie’s trailer. By giving users an interactive taste of the film before they even enter the theater, both Django and Merchlar build the anticipation that produces a lasting impression.

Django’s Montreal Premiere

The app was deployed at the premiere of the film in Montreal. Visitors were invited to use the on-site iPads to immerse themselves in a unique AR experience. The users, already thick with anticipation, were thrust into the Django universe through a thematic environment with interactive content. The whole event was so successful that it was featured in a CTV news flash as a unique, new and creative way to draw the attention and interest of the viewing crowds.
